Different Ways Mentioned in the BIBLE - Bible Study

We make decisions every day in our lives — like minor ones, such as what to eat for breakfast, what dress to wear etc., and major ones, such as whom to marry, which career I need to choose and so on. But we never thought how important it is to take decision on which way we should walk through or which path we should choose, to have eternal life?

We have come across narrow way and broad way in the Bible many times and we understand that Narrow way is troublesome and Broad way is so much flexible. Also, we see there are other ways mentioned in the Bible, the ways which we need to follow and the ways which we need to avoid, to enter to the eternal life & to follow Jesus.

The ways which we need to AVOID

1. The way of Lazy (Proverbs 15:19)

The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway.

2. The way of Wicked (Proverbs 4:19)

The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble

3. The way of  Evil (Proverbs 2:12)

Delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,

4. The way of Unfaithful (Proverbs 13:15)

Good judgment wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful leads to their destruction.

5. The way of Adulteress (Proverbs 5:8)

Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house.

6.  The way of Hell (Proverbs 7 :27)

Her house is the way to hell….

7. The way of Guilty (Proverbs 21:8)

The way of the guilty is crooked, but the conduct of the pure is upright.

8. The way of  Sinners (Psalms 1:1)

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners

9. The way of lies (Psalms 119:128)

Therefore, I consider all your precepts to be right; I hate every false way.

10. The way of Tiredness (Psalms 139 :24)

And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

The ways which we need to FOLLOW

1. The way of obedience to commandments (Psalms 119:32)
I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!

2. The way of Justice (Proverbs 8:20)
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice…

3. The way of Safe path (Psalms 27:11)
Teach me thy way, O LORD; and lead me in a plain path

4. The way of laws/Teachings (Psalms 119:27)
Make me understand the way of your precepts, And I will meditate on your wondrous works.

5. The way of Truth (Psalms 119:30)
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

6.  The way of Righteousness (Proverbs 8 :20)
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice

7. The way of Insight / Knowledge (Proverbs 9:6)
Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.

8. The way of Good (Proverbs 2:20)
So, you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous

9. The way of Wisdom (Proverbs 4 :11)
I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness.

10. The way of Upright/honest (Proverbs 16:17)
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul

Conclusion:

We see Jesus made the claim, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Through this verse we understand that Jesus is the only way to get eternal life. To follow Jesus is nothing but following his ways which we have to and unfollowing the ways which we need to avoid.

As always said, we should thank God for his ways are unlike our ways, and for his ways being higher than ours.
